YKI has various teams led by a few board members. Through these teams, you can get involved in the guild’s activities and help develop them with a low barrier to entry. The button below takes you to the joint application form for the teams, and you will also find descriptions of all the available opportunities below!
Brand team
The Brand Team is led by the Communications representative, Social media officer, Merch officer and Editor-in-Chief. You can join the Brand Team if you’re interested in managing the guild’s social media, photography, producing the guild’s magazine, creating event posters or other graphics, designing guild merch, or anything related to these activities! As a photographer, you’ll have the opportunity to capture guild events, and you don’t need to be a professional to join. For more information about the Brand Team, contact Saimi Riihioja (TG @saimiriihoja) and Erika Laine (TG @erikalaine).
Event team
In the event team, you get to be a part of organizing guild events! The event team is a good place to see what organizing an event involves. The team offers the opportunity to come up with new ideas and develop existing guild events. During the spring, the team gets to develop low-threshold events (e.g. Guild Quizzes) and in the autumn, you get to participate in organizing YKI events, such as simulation sit-ins and Pubirund. For more information about the event team, please contact Saaga Tuomi TG @narraajasagu
Study team
The Study Team is led by the guild’s academic sector and includes student representatives (hallopeds). Its main tasks include advocacy, maintaining communication between students and faculty, developing academic affairs, and organizing study-related events. For more information about the Study Team, contact Viivi Hyvärinen (TG @viivihyvarinen).
International team
The International (KV) Team works alongside the guild’s International officer. This team highlights the needs of international students and provides an international perspective on guild decisions. The KV Team aims to bring together international students and those interested in international affairs. Additionally, the team may assist with translation tasks. If internationality is close to your heart, this is the team for you! For more information about the KV Team, contact Sofia Lidauer (TG @sofialidauer).
Equality team
In the Equality Team, you’ll contribute to improving the guild’s equality efforts. The team is led by the Equality Coordinator. As part of this team, you’ll help brainstorm ideas to enhance equality and accessibility within the guild, update the guild’s equality plan, and engage in related activities. For more information about the Equality Team, contact Aava Martikainen (TG @laavalamppuu).
Leisure team (Sports and Well-being Team)
Leisure activities currently include sports shifts, ice swimming & sauna sessions, trial sessions for different activities, tournaments, autumn / spring hikes, weekly group runs and exam week relaxation events. We aim to increase low-threshold opportunities, such as knitting and movie nights and well-being events. As part of the team, you’ll get to participate in organizing existing activities and developing new ones based on your interests. For more information about the Leisure Team, contact Lotta Eskelinen (TG @lottaeskelinen).
